Os efeitos do resveratrol no perfil glicêmico em Diabetes mellitus tipo 2

Resumo

O Diabetes mellitus tipo 2 é caracterizado por níveis elevados de glicose no sangue, que, a longo prazo, pode progredir para complicações que afetam órgãos importantes em todo o corpo. A causa da diabetes é multifatorial, mas hábitos de vida como o sedentarismo e alimentação inadequada favorecem a obesidade e o surgimento de doenças crônicas como a diabetes. Além de terapias medicamentosas eficazes no controle da doença, novas estratégias terapêuticas para o controle da hiperglicemia crônica estão sendo estudadas, como é o caso do resveratrol, um polifenol encontrado em ameixas, uvas e frutas vermelhas, e apresenta propriedades anti-inflamatórias, antioxidantes e antidiabéticas. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar os efeitos do resveratrol no perfil glicêmico em diabetes mellitus tipo 2. A metodologia, de revisão da literatura, baseou-se na seleção de artigos relacionados ao tema, publicados em bases científicas como PubMed e Web of Science entre 2014 e 2024. A suplementação de resveratrol mostrou-se promissora no controle glicêmico em diabéticos do tipo 2, reduzindo os níveis de glicose plasmática, HbA1c, além de melhorar a ação da insulina.
