El efecto antiinflamatorio de la cúrcuma en enfermedades inflamatorias intestinales

Resumen

La disbiosis de la microbiota intestinal juega un papel importante en el desarrollo de enfermedades como la colitis ulcerosa y la enfermedad de Crohn. Por lo tanto, la cúrcuma longa puede ayudar en el tratamiento de estas enfermedades, debido a su acción antiinflamatoria y antioxidante. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar el consumo de cúrcuma longa en personas con enfermedades inflamatorias intestinales, verificar la reducción de efectos secundarios con el uso de cúrcuma y reportar sus efectos sobre la salud gastrointestinal. La metodología es un estudio de revisión bibliográfica teniendo en cuenta el análisis de artículos científicos que abordan la temática presentada en las bases de datos EBSCO, CAPES y PubMed. Se seleccionaron estudios nacionales e internacionales en inglés y portugués de los últimos 10 años. La metodología de búsqueda utilizó los siguientes descriptores: (curumim AND disbiosis) OR (curumim and intestino) OR (curumim AND inflamación). Luego de analizar los estudios, se encontró que este medicamento herbal tuvo una acción preventiva sobre la respuesta inflamatoria intestinal, repara la microbiota intestinal y puede prevenir infecciones tempranas por bacterias, enriqueciendo la diversidad de la microbiota intestinal. Este estudio nos permitió comprender que la cúrcuma longa puede tratar enfermedades inflamatorias del intestino al modular la microbiota intestinal, pero se requieren más estudios.
